Community Right to Build
The Department of Communities and Local Government (CLG) announced their plans for the Community Right to Build on 23rd July this year as part of the Coalition Government’s Big Society plans. The Community Right to Build is a new power that will allow communities across England to come together and create new homes, shops, businesses and facilities. St Cyr's Round-Up
By now people will have noticed that the work on the roof is underway and hopefully it will be finished by the end of August. During working hours the church will be closed to visitors as there is a small danger of falling plaster and stone. On completion of the roof, the church is going to need a ‘Big Clean’. Local Transport Plan
Gloucestershire County Council has produced a draft Local Transport Plan (LTP3) setting out what the County Council thinks the future of transport should look like in Gloucestershire from 2011 to 2026. A full copy of the draft LTP3 strategy can be viewed from this website under Links/Local Government Websites/Gloucester County Council/ Travel and Transport, and copies have also been placed in local libraries. Evening of Song
There are still some tickets available for this very special evening with Mezzo Soprano Dame Ann Murray, Tenor Robin Leggate & Covent garden Pianist Mark Packwood in St Cyr's Church Stinchcombe on Saturday 18th September 2010 at 7.30 pm. From 6.00pm onwards there will also be an art exhibition by five local artists in the Barn Gallery at Church Farm Stinchcombe. Stinchcombe Manor Fete
A Village Fete will be held in the grounds of Stinchcombe Manor on Saturday 14th August 2010 between 1pm and 4pm. The Fete is being sponsored and organised by the Stinchcombe Manor Nursing Home and proceeds will go towards the upkeep of St Cyrs Church. It promises to be a fun day out for all and includes bouncy castle, cream teas, african drums and dance, fire and rescue service display, various stalls and games, a grand raffle and other attractions.
